Ensemble-based cross-media interaction using fuzzy logic and free-formed synchronization for pervasive 3D graphics.
We propose a novel cross-media interaction scheme for pervasive 3D graphics. A 2D screen and a 3D projection panel are used to implement interactive content. Our scheme generates unique command representations that are used to control the interactions. Different commands from the 2D screen and the 3D projection panel can be fused or converted, and the fused commands are sent to the appropriate controls for the next round of interactive content. The fused commands are developed by fuzzy logic. A set of commands are generated to control the cross-media interactions. Fuzzy rules generate the commands. The generated commands can either be sent to the controls in real time or saved for offline use. We implemented the proposed cross-media interaction scheme on a Texas Instruments/Pearl River Sensor Technology multi-touchtablet. Experimental results showed that the fused commands were the most effective in controlling the interactions.
